Kia ora, I’m Claire Rye.
I am a registered clinical art therapist. I combine creative and somatic methods with psychotherapeutic interventions to enable people to progress their lives and well-being.
I come from a creative background and have worked as a youth worker since 2006. I have a lot of experience in coaching and mentoring young people. In addition, I enjoy working with neurodiversity in ways that meet people’s needs and interests.
I have worked in the family harm service since 2017. I help families/whānau affected by violence in the home but have specialised in working with children from primary school age and upwards, into adulthood.
I understand the impacts of trauma and find using creative processes can very much assist us to become more settled in ourselves and more comfortable in our bodies. I work in a collaborative, person-centered way. You are the expert in your life, I will work with you to help you find the tools, strategies, or methods to help you live a happier life.
In my spare time, I like to paint outside, walk my dog, garden, or go to the gym.
